Two veteran “Castle” writers exit stage left

CASTLE - "Clear & Present Danger" - When a pool shark is murdered by an unseen force, Castle and Becket uncover evidence that the killer may have paranormal powers. Meanwhile, Castle and Beckett attempt to get their lives back to normal following his disappearance, on "Castle," MONDAY, OCTOBER 13 (10:01-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. If Castle is renewed, it will be without its most popular writer and a veteran writer. Rob Hanning announced on Twitter after his episode aired Monday (April 25) that he was leaving for Hawaii Five-O. He’s not the first Castle writer to head over to the veteran police drama, Moira Kirland also wrote five episodes before heading over to Madame Secretary as co-executive producer.

Chad Creasey, who joined the series with his then writing partner and wife Dara, is also leaving. Creasey is joining NCIS: New Orleans in the fall. As for Dara, who left at the end of season seven, wrote for Jane the Virgin this past season and is now on staff at Shooter over at USA Network.

There might be more writers exiting the series as new shows are picked up or writers leave for other gigs opening up spots on current shows on the air. Stay tuned!
